Gabriela Carbó is a professional Spanish/English translator for community and international development organizations. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and International Development from McGill University.
Gabriela has several years of experience working with non-governmental organizations in Canada and the U.S. Her past work experience includes organizing and leading events and workshops, creating and updating program management documents, writing communications materials in English and Spanish and providing interpretation at events and team meetings. She has expertise in: democratization, agricultural development, gender-equality, environment, climate change, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Gabriela is passionate about intercultural communication. By applying appropriate grammar, syntax, semantics, style and terminology, she provides a seamless bridge between English and Spanish.
Gabriela also sits on the Editorial Board of the Ontario Council for International Cooperation’s (OCIC) e-magazine and volunteers with local organizations that work to end violence against women and provide support for new immigrants and refugees.
